Kansas City’s youth jazz program for serious young musicians.
Future Jazz KC gives middle and high school students real-world jazz training through ensembles, improvisation, concerts, mentorship, and community.
Why Future Jazz KC?
Students don’t just learn tunes. They learn how to listen, lead, improvise, collaborate, and perform with confidence. Our faculty includes working professional musicians and educators who help students grow beyond the school band room while still supporting their school music programs.
Affordable, High-Level Jazz Education for Young Musicians
Future Jazz provides the best instruction for musicians in grades 9–12 at affordable prices and convenient locations. Students rehearse once a week and perform in at least two concerts per semester.
The cost to participate is $75 a month, and financial assistance is available for students who need it.
Students study and perform traditional jazz music while also playing new and commissioned works by some of the best composers in the country. Future Jazz is not here to replace a student’s current music education, but to supplement it — giving young musicians the chance to work, connect, and build community with students outside their own school districts.
